INSTALLATION
The E.L.N. dosing valve with pre-fitted integral reservoir is delivered to you in a custom-made heavy duty cardboard box, designed specifically to hold the valve and reservoir in a cradle, offering secure protection in transit. Included in the box is an aluminium supporting bracket, pre-drilled to accept the included fixings, valve assembly and integral reservoir. Special inserts are also provided by which the supporting bracket can be securely attached to any box cavity bulkhead, or where rear access is a problem. These inserts are designed to act as a resilient mount and also accommodate the various depths of metal used by different vehicle manufactures,all fixings screws are also supplied. As you would expect, the box also contains comprehensive, illustrated, step by step fitting instructions, together with product guarantee.
The E.L.N. dosing valve was designed for self installation and careful consideration was given to allow this procedure to be performed as simply as possible. Apologies to the more technically minded. The valve should be mounted vertically in any readily accessible position, suitable to allow top up of the reservoir when required. Bear in mind that the reservoir capacity is sufficient to treat several tanks of fuel. Although normal procedure would be to fit the valve in the vehicle engine compartment it is perfectly possible to use the boot / trunk area for installation, if the fuel pump is located in that area, the valve should be connected in line between the tank and fuel pump.
Basic installation guide: mount the valve and integral reservoir ( pre drilled bracket and fixings supplied ). Disconnect fuel hose / pipe at the fuel pump, from the tank and re-connect to valve input, (you may need to extend the fuel line depending on valve placement). Fit replacement hose / pipe from valve output to fuel pump, to replace hose / pipe removed. (Alterrnatively the hose to the pump could be split and the valve inserted between the two pieces of hose). Top up reservoir with additive and that's it. Simple and straight forward. Remember full and comprehensive fitting instructions are provided.
